WHAT IS ADULT DAY CARE
Adult Day Care is a comprehensive program of
services and opportunities for older adults with special needs. The Adult Day Care Center
offers a warm and positive approach that promotes better physical and mental health, helps
maintain or increase daily functioning, encourages continued activity and interaction with
others. Participants report that they look forward to being with their new friends and
they are no longer lonely each day. Clients also report that they like having something
new and exciting to do.
WHO BENEFITS?
THE OLDER ADULT WHO:
IS NOT CAPABLE OF FULL-TIME INDEPENDENT LIVING
NEEDS CARE AND SUPERVISION DURING THE DAY
IS UNABLE TO STAY HOME ALONE WHILE FAMILY MEMBERS WORK
WOULD BENEFIT FROM STRUCTURE, STIMULATION AND SUPPORT IN A SMALL GROUP
IS LONELY
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Arts/Crafts - Music - Games - Exercise - Walks -
Current Events
Parties - Seasonal Celebrations - Reminiscing - Memory Activities
Cookouts - Intergenerational Activities - Cooking - Talking
