WHAT ARE THE IN HOME CARE SERVICES?

Home Care Services is a service provided to older and disabled persons who may not need Nursing Home Care, but require some assistance with their day-to-day health and personal needs while living at home.

Home Care Services of the Lake Country Area Agency  on Aging gives the "quality" care that enables a person to remain independent by:

  • Providing a service to preserve a personal sense of independence and security.

  • Enabling a person to maintain a familiar community setting.

  • Providing respite to family members who are the sole source of support and caregiving.

Home care is appropriate for many people in a variety of circumstances. Older and disabled adults recovering from:

  • An acute illness such as a heart attack or a stroke.

  • An accident such as a disabling fall.

Home Care is also  helpful to persons with chronic or long term disabilities due to failing health.

Home Care allows home maintenance services such as:

  • Shopping

  • Meal preparation

  • Light housekeeping

Along with such services as assistance with personal needs:

  • Walking

  • Bathing

  • Dressing

Lake Country's Area Agency on Aging objectives are to promote continued independence    through the provision of service designed to remove housekeeping and isolation barriers.

Home Care Services is the answer!

In Home Care Rights and Responsibilities

  • To be fully informed or your rights and responsibilities by the Home Care Agency.

  • To privacy

  • To confidentiality

  • To maintain dignity

  • To voice grievances and suggest change in service or staff without fear or retaliation

PERSONAL CARE

Lake Country Area Agency on Aging is a provider of this service approved by the Department of  Medical Assistance Services.

Personal Care is a long-term maintenance or support service, which is necessary in order to enable the individual to remain at or return home.

Personal Care Aids assist individuals with allowed services such as:

  • assisting with grooming and bathing.

  • assisting individuals with dressing and undressing.

  • assisting with eating or feeding.

  • assisting with meal preparations and cleaning kitchen.

  • assisting with cleaning individual room and bathroom.

  • assisting with laundry in some cases.

NON-ALLOWED SERVICES INCLUDE

  • Transportation

  • Medical Services

  • "Sitter" Services
